OPS selects Mark Evans as next Superintendent

On Monday night, the OPS School Board unanimously selected Mark Evans to be our next Superintendent. Mark Evans is currently the Superintendent in Andover, KS, a suburb of Wichita. He spent 20 years in Wichita Public Schools as a teacher and administrator having served as Deputy Superintendent and Interim Superintendent before taking over in Andover. Mark has family connections in the Omaha/Lincoln area and his wife is originally from Lincoln. You can read more about his background on the OPS website here. Their has not been an immediate timeline announced for his transition and Dr. Moon will continue to serve as Interim Superintendent through the remainder of the school year.
