One Elementary Representative position on the Board of Directors has been was vacated. The original term of office for this Elementary Representative position is 2013-2015.
A special election will be held at the November 11, 2014 AR Assembly to fill this position for the remainder of the association year, that is from November 11, 2014 through July 31, 2015.
According to the Bylaws of the Omaha Education Association, “vacancies on the OEA Board, other than the President, shall be filled at the next regular meeting of the Representative Assembly. That person shall take office immediately and hold office until a successor elected at the next general election assumes office. The person elected at the general election shall hold office for the remainder of the term”.
Therefore, a special election will be held at the November 11, 2014 AR Assembly to fill this position for the remainder of the association year, that is from November 11, 2014 through July 31, 2015. Candidates for the Board of Directors shall have completed a minimum of one year active membership in the Omaha Education Association. No person may be a candidate for election to more than one office on the Board of Directors.
