NSEA Delegate Assembly

Assemblies are held annually at the state level. The NSEA Delegate Assembly is traditionally held during the month of April.

The NSEA Delegate Assembly is the state association's annual convention. OEA Delegates have the opportunity to participate in the governance of their state association as delegates by submitting new business items, bylaw amendments, proposed resolutions, or proposed changes in the standing and procedural rules.

Highlights of the Assembly include nationally and locally known speakers and the awarding of several honors, including: Rookie of the Year Award, Teaching Excellence Award, Community Service Award, Media Award, ESP of the Year Award and Friend of Education Award.

OEA is entitled to delegates to the NSEA DA based on total membership enrollment, qualifying for 1 delegate for each 50 members, or major fraction thereof. In addition, proportional representation by education position is guaranteed by NSEA bylaws.

In accordance with the OEA Bylaws, an election for delegates to the NSEA Delegate Assembly will be held on the second Tuesday of February. Filing deadline is the January Representative Assembly.
