Assignments

Members of the OEA Board of Directors serve as first-level communication channels for our members.

At the beginning of each Association year, each Board member is assigned a list of schools or departments for whom they are responsible. They build special relationships with these schools and departments and act in many important and vital liaison capacities. These capacities can include the following:

  • Providing one-on-one contact with members in their assigned buildings and departments;

  • Providing an open, personal communication channel, Member-to-OEA and OEA-to-Member;

  • Acting on the need to call members to action when the need arises;

  • Assisting members in understanding the Association governance process;

  • Serving as a mentor to building and department leaders (such as Association Representatives); and

  • Training members and new leaders in how to conduct OEA business
