President

The OEA President is a full-time release officer who is elected by the members to a three-year term. The OEA President is the educational leader and official spokesperson for the Association. The President guides the activities of the Association to meet the Goals and Objectives of the Association.

What is UniServ?

The UniServ program was created by the NEA in the early 1970's to provide direct professional staff assistance to members and their local associations. UniServ is an abbreviation, which stands for Unified Service.

Each NEA State affiliate is divided into UniServ Units of at least 1200 members, though special units of smaller sizes have been created for rural and sparsely populated areas. Each unit is governed by a UniServ Council elected by and from the local associations that make it up.

Because of its large membership, OEA is a single UniServ Unit and is entitled to two UniServ Directors. The OEA Board of Directors serves as the governing board. Funding for the UniServ program comes via a three-party agreement among NEA, NSEA and the local association (OEA).

Our Staff Associates:

The OEA Staff Associates are responsible for membership processing, bookkeeping and accounting, secretarial assistance to the professional staff and president, maintenance of files and records, scheduling of office facilities, and printing and distribution services.

  • School year: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

  • Summer: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
