OPS Early Childhood Teachers,

Last school year, two teams of EC teachers met with the district to address concerns regarding 1:10 ratio compliance throughout the day, lack of ample notice of new student placement, and an increasing number of students on IEPs entering a Gen Ed setting without additional support and ratios that near or surpass 50% of students in a classroom on an IEP. The OEA would like to continue gathering data on these areas of concern from Early Childhood staff. Though the research done by these two teams supported multiage classrooms, we will also collect data on student ages. The data collected will only be used for purposes within the OEA or for general information shared with the district. Your personal information or building will NOT be shared with OPS unless you are explicitly asked beforehand. The 1:10 ratio form is meant to keep track of when a teacher/para are left out of that ratio for portions of the day. This form may be filled out as frequently as daily. The surveys collecting data on students on IEPs, age differences, and student placement may be filled out each time there is a change to your roster.
